Who We Are......
We are a fairly new society, however our ranks are filled with members who have been growing ferns and other tropical plants for many years. We have people who specialize in ferns, begonias, orchids, aroids, palms, etc. This is a fairly unique society in that it brings together groups of tropical plants that grow here. We have meetings that are geared towards begonias, aroids, bromeliads, heliconias, hibiscus, etc. The South Florida area is awash in plant societies all vying for the time of the few dedicated growers who feel as though they must belong to each and every society here. However, there are more than 25 different plant societies here and members belong to multiple organizations. We hope to attract people who are curious about ferns, and would like to know a little about some of the other plants. We meet at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, Florida) on the Fourth Monday of every month (except July & August). Benefits include:
