The Tropical Fern & Exotic Plant Society

2008 Fern & Exotic
Plant Show & Sale

May 31 and June 1

at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

In 2001, we were able to put on our first  plant show showcasing many tropical plants that are grown in South Florida.  Our show and sale are at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, Florida).

The show and sale for 2007 will feature an exciting display of rare plants that are generally not available through commercial venues.  We will have over 14 vendors all selling from their booths and a Members' Table that will feature some very unique plants as well.

We will have ferns, aroids, heliconias, crotons, gesneriads, cordylines, orchids,   bougainvillea and  bromeliads available for purchase.

Many of the plants that our members grow are collected from around the world and in many cases, newly introduced species.  Our international members will be bringing plants in from Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines and Ecuador.

The display will feature many different ferns and tropical plants.  Last year's show incorporated aroids, ferns, orchids, gesneriads, begonias, crotons, coleus and bromeliads.

If you are planning to visit the South Florida area, please drop in to see this one of a kind plant show at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.  The dates for this year's show are May 31 & June 1.  The gates are open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.  The General Admission to the Show & Sale is $20.00 for adults.  With this admission price, you are also entitled to visit Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in its entirety. And along with seeing the exquisite Garden, we are once again hosting the breath-taking glass work of  Dale Chihuly. Plus, the Garden is displaying the pop art of Roy Lichtenstein and the bountiful and beautiful sculptures of Fernando Botero.

There is no admissions fee for Fairchild Garden members.  A plant holding area will be available, so that you may spend some time at the Garden.
