This interesting,  highly dimorphic Blechnum species comes from New Caledonia,
an island east of Australia.  New Caledonia has a high rate of endemic plants,
especially ferns that are found nowhere else. Another handsome fern from New
Caledonia is the Black Marattia, Marattia attenuata.
